WAOUH! and I so DO love this piece so much! One of my favorites. The pureness of every piece, the elegance, the dramatic side, it’s like a kind of yin/ yang, it’s just perfect in my eyes!
Motohiko Odani was born 1972 in Kyoto. He studied sculpture and fine Art at Tokyo University of the Arts, where he specialises in uniquely dynamic sculptural art. In 2003 he represented Japan at the Venice Biennale. Odani’s work is so multisided – going from C-prints to video installations, as well as sculptures and objects. It’s so 21th century!!:)
The materials he uses are mainly paraffin, steel and reinforced special plastic fibres, giving a filament-like quality to the work.
Between organic and a fluently flair…I have to admit that I prefer the pure white objects to those of the more organic and dark ones….but from the artistic point of view her ideas and diversity in the topics are magnificent and still there is a red line to find…
I can’t wait to see more of this Japanese artist in the future! Definitely someone who is worth to follow!
