I love this installation that was just built at the beach of Rio de Janeiro:
A fish sculpture constructed from discarded plastic bottles rises out of the sand at Botafogo beach in Rio. Constructed on June 19th, 2012. The city is host to the UN Conference on Sustainable Development, or Rio+20, which runs through June 22.
This is just amazing! Between fairy whorl and a great idea to use garbage in a recycled way…
Fish recycled: lovable Art!

I was definitely longing for sweets when I decided to write that little article yesterday night about Wayne Thiebaud.
First a glimpse and a bite…than you will know what I mean!
This American painter was born 1920 – and this not somewhere:) but in a Mormon family! in Mesa, Arizona, U.S.A. Waouh..not an evident start I guess to be liberated in your mind.
In his high school years although he was an apprentice at the Walt Disney Pictures walt Disney Studio – I guess that could be one hint to where his choice of children issues come from. And here another one as he further worked as a cartoonist and designer in California and NY.
So there you go – as you understood that it’s not all about cakes:)- but as well lipsticks, toys, boots or toilets. I do like his bubble gum/ vintage world of the 50′s & 60′s.
Moreover it was quite striking to me that the artist was a male person. It is more or less a child world in my eyes that Mister Thiebaud depicts, by using exaggerated colors and heavy pigments. Thiebaud is in general often put into association with Pop Art due to his object interest and his way of exposing them.
The more I am looking at his art, the more evident it got to me that even though his topics are really girlie style, there is this concrete painted line where we can guess that the artwork is done by a male person. Anyway- I enjoyed this visual journey and I hope you did too!
Last but not least: My favorite two of Wayne:)
All I need is your Love*
