Mine:)

That hangs on my wall now!:)
I bought a drawing these days from the artist Fabien Granet. I wrote about him here almost one year ago – waouh time goes by so quick! – (check for the article and interview here: http://www.annina.fr/contemporary-art/discovery-fabien-granet/). I was really really happy to have my favorite drawing in my own hands now. I discovered him by chance. Thank you destiny!!!! haha.

What I like about it? The composition first of all as I like the “healthy” tension between the circle of figures standing and the chair that seems to be hold just by one thread. It looks so fragile and so stable at the same time. They all stay on a huge cookie, so the humorous side isn’t missing. But in a way it represents for me like if they were standing on the earth and sometimes even planet mars:)…as if the cookie would be the earth and the figures the people on it, staying in a closed circle with one timid child in the middle, turning his foot inside out. And still the center isn’t the little boy in the middle of the circle but the viewer – so you! – as they all look at you and now me – their new daily “voyeur”.
I feel like being and not being part of them. I love the child aspect, the earth metaphor, the instability and stability in the same moment, the humor, the mother that could be mother earth Gaia, the different emotions and expressions of the children, the melancholic side, etc. I could go on and on with my interpretations and what this drawing evokes in me. But that’s exactly the good thing – as it awakens so many different ideas and aspects that I feel like looking at it every day for a new time with a new curious eye. So tomorrow probably I will see children dancing on a kitchen chair, and after tomorrow I will see a mother with their children in space, hehe. Anyway I think you get the point why I fall in love with this drawing!
Thank you Fabien that you let him go into my hands:)
