Oh DEER! Myeongbeom Kim

July 4th, 2012 | Posted by aroescheisen in Contemporary Art | THINGS I LIKE TO SHARE WITH YOU

yes Deer! oh should I say dear my deer – whatever. I just love this installation of the South Korean artist Myeongbeom Kim.

He is a sculptor, installation and performance artist whose work is quite varied. But he seems to be really obsessed with trees! Here the proof:

Kim declares that there is a peaceful coexistence of manufactured goods and nature.
I think so too…in my eyes I would go so far to take the tree as the direct metaphor for nature and moreover that he stands for a sort of reconnection between nature and human fabricated goods.
And yes, I guess – his humor isn’t’ missing, thats the turning point that makes his art really something. Take a look:

Myeongbeom Kim’s art is delicate, simple (when you look at it), but great ideas and graceful representations: so everything I like!
I couldn’t find any upcoming events – so hopefully Kim has work in progress to surprise as soon as possible again. I would be really really pleased to see more of your stuff. Meanwhile I ll send you a tree (a kind of message in a bottle:) for your next art piece.
