Scrutinise universality through the individuality of the body, replace this, be face to face with yourself through the presence of the other; identifying yourself while being replaced strengthens the fleeting impulses of the being. Annina Roescheisen’s three one minute film presentations reflect the instinctive and the animal in all of us, at the intersection of shadow and light, a tribal aesthetic.

Absent or present, the aesthetic remains symbolic. A shiny face, split in two, a red line on a black background of a disturbing triptych, next, the background is wiped out and we are challenged (presentation 1).The embodiment of white, a Christ like figure, motionless, nakedness unveiled, scraps of plants, plants partly rooted; it all fits together to make one alone; create the link, do not to discard it, such a constant back and forth between the origin of the being, his/her beginning and discernible influence (presentation 2). A cavern is recreated, calm colourimetry, sublimated surroundings, a tangible oscillation between life and death, the lights respond to one another (presentation 3).
